Chris Impellitteri will always be one of my favorite shredders. His REH video Speed Soloing is one of the first guitar instructional videos I ever saw. I watched it countless times trying to learn all the licks. It is still to this day a jaw dropping experience watching Impellitteri play at ludicrous speeds.
After a long time of trying to learn how to play the “Secret Lover” arpeggio sequence, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. In the instructional, Impellitteri left out two parts where he did a hammer on pull off lick in the midst of the E minor and C major arpeggio. Back then we didn’t have the technology that we have today to slow down the video. I was just watching it over and over again on my TV/VCR combo. I was more that elated when I figured it out. His video Speed Soloing video is a must have for any shredder.
